Meet the Principal

Principal Welcome

Kia ora,
A very warm ‘KingsView welcome’ to all of you, nau mai, haere mai.
My name is Amos Pilgrim and it is my privilege to be the Principal at KingsView School, a role I started in Term 4, 2021.
I have joined KingsView School from one of Australasia’s leading Preparatory Schools, Medbury School. While there I held the position of Assistant Principal and Head of Community Service. I earned a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning from the University of Canterbury in 2008, graduated from the National Aspiring Principals Programme in 2016 and achieved a Post Graduate Certificate in Professional Supervision in 2019. I have taught in London as well as a number of state, state integrated and private schools in Aotearoa, in both rural and urban settings. I am joined in Queenstown with my wife, Sarah who is a surgical nurse and our 3 year old son Noah, who loves the outdoors and ice cream!
At KingsView School we cater for Year 1-8 students coming from the Queenstown community. We are a state integrated Christian school which means we teach the national curriculum but with a Christian flavour. The school roll, as of Term 4, 2021 is 70 which allows us to have small class sizes. The school has four full-time teachers, two almost full-time teacher aides and an office administrator as well as myself. Our School vision is to unlock each child’s treasure trove of gifts and talents. We go about achieving this vision through four main elements:

  • •Values which enRICH each child’s character. Our School Values are; Resilience, Integrity, Compassion and Honour.
  • •Small class sizes which allow for more individualized attention for each child.
  • •Family environment which cares for each student.
  • •Academic excellence is taught with the New Zealand Curriculum but with a Christian worldview.

I do hope that you find this website useful and if you are interested in an education at KingsView, I’d love to show you around.

Ngā mihi nui,

Amos Pilgrim
