KingsView Primary School is an inter-denominational state integrated Christian school
KingsView School is an inter-denominational state integrated Christian school operating from Year 1 to Year 8 and is a Decile 10 school.
After becoming a state integrated school in 2010, we have continued to grow steadily with our roll now exceeding 68 students, ranging across all years. We currently have three classrooms operating, with a fourth classroom opening in Term 1, 2020.
Our focus is on providing our students with a high quality level of education within a safe and thriving environment built and supported on the foundations of the Christian faith. Our teachers are passionate about education and provide first rate teaching in core curriculum subjects so that all students graduate from primary school with robust skills in literacy and numeracy.
Due to our smaller class sizes, we have the advantage of building a closer relationship with each child during their time of learning, which in turn enables us to understand and cater to their individual needs. As the school continues to grow we are determined to maintain smaller than average class sizes as we strongly believe this is in the best interests of the children and helps provide the gateway to unlocking their treasure trove of individual gifts and talents.
We are so excited about the future of KingsView School! Once you’ve made an appointment and seen inside our school, we are confident you will want to be a part of our future too!
“an inclusive and respectful culture that places students at the centre of learning and teaching, and promotes their wellbeing and engagement in learning.”~ ERO REPORT 2018
A very warm ‘KingsView welcome’ to all of you, nau mai, haere mai.
My name is Amos Pilgrim and it is my privilege to be the Principal at KingsView School, a role I started in Term 4, 2021.
I have joined KingsView School from one of Australasia’s leading Preparatory Schools, Medbury School. While there I held the position of Assistant Principal and Head of Community Service. I earned a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning from the University of Canterbury in 2008, graduated from the National Aspiring Principals Programme in 2016 and achieved a Post Graduate Certificate in Professional Supervision in 2019. I have taught in London as well as a number of state, state integrated and private schools in Aotearoa, in both rural and urban settings. I am joined in Queenstown with my wife, Sarah who is a surgical nurse and our 3 year old son Noah, who loves the outdoors and ice cream!
At KingsView School we cater for Year 1-8 students coming from the Queenstown community. We are a state integrated Christian school which means we teach the national curriculum but with a Christian flavour. The school roll, as of Term 4, 2021 is 70 which allows us to have small class sizes. The school has four full-time teachers, two almost full-time teacher aides and an office administrator as well as myself. Our School vision is to unlock each child’s treasure trove of gifts and talents. We go about achieving this vision through four main elements:
- •Values which enRICH each child’s character. Our School Values are; Resilience, Integrity, Compassion and Honour.
- •Small class sizes which allow for more individualized attention for each child.
- •Family environment which cares for each student.
- •Academic excellence is taught with the New Zealand Curriculum but with a Christian worldview.
I do hope that you find this website useful and if you are interested in an education at KingsView, I’d love to show you around.
