I grew up in a strong Christian home and have been part of the Dutch Reformed Church my entire life. My faith has always been the foundation of who I am and has guided me throughout my journey.
One of the things I love most about KingsView School is that I get to be part of a community where faith, love, and kindness are woven into everyday learning. Growing up and teaching in South Africa, I saw how many schools were no longer able to openly practice Christianity, which makes being part of a Christian school here even more special to me.
Being able to freely share God's love, pray with children, and help nurture both their hearts and minds is truly the greatest gift. I feel incredibly blessed to teach in an environment where faith is celebrated and where I can help children grow in both their learning and their relationship with God.

My journey began with becoming an internationally qualified beautician, as self-care and wellbeing have always been important to me. I then followed my true passion and completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Primary Teaching through the University of South Africa. I began teaching in my final year of study and have never looked back. Teaching has always felt like where I am meant to be. I have now been part of the KVS whānau for three and a half years. KVS is truly my second home and my happy place, and I feel incredibly lucky to spend each day learning and growing alongside our amazing tamariki.

I was born and raised in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, by the most amazing and supportive parents, and I was blessed with a wonderful childhood. I loved every moment of my schooling years, which helped inspire my passion for teaching. After leaving school, I met my husband, and together we built a beautiful life. Shortly before our move to New Zealand, we welcomed our gorgeous daughter into our family. After teaching for eight years in South Africa, we were given the incredible opportunity to immigrate to New Zealand. As the little team that we are, we made the move together and have proudly called Queenstown home ever since.

Favourite bible verse: Zephaniah 3:17 - "The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing."
In Afrikaans, the words "Ek jubel en juig oor jou" have always been especially close to my heart. As someone who is naturally a happy, positive person and truly grateful for the beautiful life God has given me, I love how joyful and uplifting this verse is. The words "delight" and "rejoice" stand out to me because they remind me of God's incredible love for us. Knowing that God delights in His children and rejoices over us fills me with joy, energy, and peace. It is a beautiful reminder that we are deeply loved, cherished, and celebrated by Him every day.
