Welcome to KingsView School, Queenstown

A very warm ‘KingsView welcome’ to all of you, nau mai, haere mai.

At KingsView School we cater for Year 1-8 students from Queenstown and surrounding communities. We are a state integrated Christian school which means we teach the New Zealand curriculum from a Christian point of view. We are committed to small class sizes and have a dedicated team, made up of teachers, learning assistants and support staff, who support and care for our students, encouraging them to fulfil our school values and reach their potential in all areas of their lives.

Our school’s vision is to enR.I.C.H each child’s gifts and talents.

We go about achieving this vision through four main elements:

  • Special character – encouraging students and staff to uphold our school values of resilience, integrity, compassion and honour.
  • Small class sizes – which allow for more individualised attention for each child.
  • Community spirit – which cares for each student and their families.
  • Academic excellence – teaching the New Zealand Curriculum with a Christian worldview.

If you think that KingsView could be a good fit for your child and family, I invite you to contact the office – office@kingsview.school.nz or 03 451 1444, to book a talk and tour, I’d love to show you around.

School Uniform @ KingsView
14 Feb 2025

Dear KingsView Families,

It's been a super start to the year and everyone is mostly looking great in their uniforms. Uniforms help staff to identify students more easily around the school and at the field and it helps students to have a sense of belonging here at KingsView.

We just wanted to remind you that certain items of clothing are not acceptable uniform items and we would like to discourage your children from wearing them. Items such as:

  • Non KingsView tops and hoodies
  • Leggings
  • Shorts that are not grey (for boys) or navy (culottes for girls)
  • Shoes that are not black

Students are able to wear older items such as plain white shirts and school tartan items, if you still have them, but these are no longer on our list.

Our KingsView uniform items are available at NZ Uniforms at Remarkables Park and also online at KingsView Uniforms NZ Uniforms has a programme called Uniform Club which allows you to put aside money regularly to cover the cost of items you may need to purchase in the future. Information can be found here: Uniform Club. NZ Uniforms also offer Afterpay in store and Zip in store and online.

We also have plenty of second hand uniforms available, we have a table set up in the foyer at the moment, please take what you need.

If you have any questions please have a chat with Amos or email principal@kingsview.school.nz

Sunsmart at KingsView

The summer sun is blazing so this is a reminder that all students need to be wearing hats at all break times and during other outdoor activities. We are concerned that not many students appear to have hats at this time.

Please make sure your student has a hat in their bag and brings it to school? Wearing a hat is a requirement for students in both term 1 and term 4. Their hat can either stay in their bag or be left at school when not being worn. Hats should have a wide brim and protect the face as well as the head.

All classrooms have sunscreen available and hats are part of our KingsView uniform. KingsView hats are available at NZ Uniforms - KingsView hats

The sun smart website is a useful source of information about staying protected from the damaging rays of the NZ sun - www.sunsmart.org.nz

Our staff are modelling sun safe practices by wearing hats and sunscreen, they don’t want students to miss out on play at breaktime, students who aren’t wearing hats will have to stay under the trees.

Thank you for helping us to make your children sun smart.
